Just when you think you have tasted it all in craft beer, you will always be proven wrong. The nose poses some of the conundrums to come in the taste - Berries, sourness, smoke and green grapes. What? The porter attributes come out more in the taste with coffee and cocao there but playing second fiddle to the sourness, red wine taste and acidity, chalk and dark berries. Solid hint of ripe cherries too. Balanced and intriguing.

Black with big foaming head. Aroma and flavour have a blackcurrant sharpness and bitterness. Pleasantly tart and slightly funky. Really unique.

Bottle picked up from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgium consumed at Builth Wells, Powys, Wales in the company of Baz, Jude, Bayley, Dom and Georgia Saturday 30th December 2017 Pours almost black with a slim beige head. There aromas suggests (correctly) the sourness to come, I am not sure I necessarily get the Pinot Noir but you do get the barrel ageing, it is is tart and a little fruity, some red wine hints are showing, a little chocolate on the nose. It's a good beer. A7 A4 T4 P4 Ov15 3.7

@ BXLfest 2017. Bottle sample, merci Thibault.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a nice large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some black chocolate notes with some tart notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix of roasted malt with some sweet black chocolate notes with some mild tart notes. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol notes. Very enjoyable with tart notes well-balanced against the roasted malt notes and light residual sugar notes.

Bouteille 500 ml.
