Fermentable sugars are produced from a mash of barley, oats and wheat prior to being boiled with hops and yarrow to impart bitterness. The resultant brew is conditioned in vats with ale cost, also known as tansy, rosemary and thyme.
This tribute to our forebears and "brewing brothers" celebrates the 750th Anniversary of the Battle of Lewes.

Bottle thanks to James, 30/12/15. Orange amber with a moderate off White covering. Nose is big on rosemary and thyme, herbal notes, light fruits. Taste comprises caramel, more thyme, less rosemary, sweet and sour. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok but only in small doses me thinks.

Many thanks to Eike. Thyme and Rosemary in the nose. The beer starts fresh and herbal. Easy to drink but fresh with malty smooth body. The wheat is there, not too sweetish with floral hints of the oats. The herbs are nice and present, easy to drink, fresh and smooth, round. Nice!

Bouteille 375ml, merci Pierre T. Couleur ambrée, col fin blanc.

Bottle at AshtonMcCobb’s. Pours clear gold with a thin short-lived white head. Aromas of rosemary, thyme, fisherman’s friend. Taste is herbal, soupy. Strangely menthol finish.

Bottle at Casper is back tasting. Clear amber lasting white head. Herby. Very different from any harveys beer. Hoppy bitter on the finish. Good. liked it.

Bottle shared at chriso’s. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. Punchy herbal nose, some ginger, thyme, basil, other green herbs. Light to medium sweet flavor with more heavy herbs, lots of oregano and basil. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lingering basil, oregano, pale malts. Novelty stuff.

Bottle massive thanks to Caspar. It pours clear golden-amber with a small white head. The nose is spicy, herbal, medicinal, ginger ale, tomatoes and must The taste is sweet, spicy, herbal, earth, butternut squash, brown bread, decent bitterness, wood and drying astringency with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Unusual/unique for sure.... Herbal pizza feel about. Interesting...
