Bottled (and thanks goes to the craziest bartender around, once again). Deep amber colour, with big fluffy slightly off white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some slight spicy notes along with grass and roasted notes. Flavour is caramel malts, earth, some grass and mild hayishness. Mild dark dry fruits as well.

Hazy chestnut color. Light caramel aroma. Some caramel flavor, with chocolate and a quite dry mouthfeel. Not bad, but simple and boring.

500ml bottle from Majestic Wines, Bracknell. Chesnut brown with a red tint; the thick loose tan head fades rapidly; sweet malt aromas; oily roasted malts when tasted, smooth and chocolatey; with a gentle bitter finish. (24Dec2008 6/3/6/3/14=3.2)

Cask at the Queen Hotel (JDW), Aldershot. Reddish amber with a thin cream head; woody aroma with a touch of winter spice; sweet malty taste, with a twiggy bitterness; and some lingering malts to finish. Drinkable but not very exciting. (11Jan2016 6/4/6/3/11=3)

From cask at Charlies. Pours clear and golden deep brown with a redish glare and a bubbly off-white head. Roasted malty and dark fruity aroma. Sweet fruity flavoured. Quite dense and with a toffee roasted to dark breadish malt base flavour. Lingering roasted and dark malt flavoured finish.

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A deep red beer with a thin cream colored head. The aroma is sweet and very malty combined with strong notes of flowery hops and medium notes of caramel and citrus. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel as well as medium notes of dried fruits and spices and light notes of citrus, leading to a very bitter finish where notes of toffee lingers. Nicely spiced.

[bottle from Waitrose, Marlow] Initially a lovely smooth chocolate, Quite malty too. Unfortunately ruined by excessive carbonation and an intensely and unpleasantly bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from ASDA. Ruby-red with a decent off-white head that left a lot of lacing. Fruity malt aroma with some roasted notes. Flavour of caramel and red fruit with a touch of coffee to finish. A very good bottled beer.
