Keg at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15. Black with a decent tan covering. Nose is peated malt, smoke, dark malt, fruit rinds. Taste comprises a more subtle layer of peated malt, spice, chocolate, brown sugar, chilli jam. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with warming alcohol. Ok peated affair.

Borefts VII. Day 1. Clear dark brown beer, few pale tan bubbles. Smooth palate. modest fine carbonation. Smoky peaty whiskey, spicy. Some malt sweetness lifts it. Trace of dark fruits. Smooth finish. For a peat whiskey job, not bad!

Sampled @ Borefts 2015. Opaque black color, small off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, very peaty, band aid, iodine, alcohol, bitter. Another heavy beer from hair of the dog. All drinkable, but not something I really want to drink a full bottle of.

Tap at Borefts ’15. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, big peat, oak barrel, toffee and caramel. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with alcoholic warmth in the palate and soft carbonation.

At Borefts. Medium thick, pale yellow beige head over a very dark misty bronze coloured beer. Aroma very peaty, iodine, smoked wood, whisky, caramel, hazelnuts; complexely sweetish in onset, full oily mouthfeel, thick caramelly and lightly chocolatey maltiness, warming whisky-like alcohol in the finish with drying woodiness, with strong retronasal ’peatiness’. Too peaty for my taste, dominating too much and thereby drowning the finesse and full complexity of the Adam itself.

--- Beer merged from original tick of Adam from the Wood (Single Malt Scotch) on 25 May 2018 at 15:45 - Score: 8

On tap at Borefts 2015. Clear, dark brownish red with a tan, creamy head. Sweetish-malty aroma of peat, tar, prunes, coffee, whiskey, molasses. Sweet-malty taste following the nose. Long, peaty finish. Full body, oily mouthfeel, flat carbonation. Great.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. Very dark brown to black with no head. Nose is heavy on iodine, peat, hugely medicinal with light malts & touch molasses in the back. Taste is dominated by boozy peat, iodine, almost salty, barrel has thin in the back you have some caramel, molasses, brown banana, pear, the base beer is there but thinned out & covered by the iodine, peat etc. Body is too thin and alcohol is too heavy and the peat is way too heavy, far from complimentary it destroys most other flavours in the beer. Still okay but considering how good the base beer is bit of a waste for me.

At Borefts 2015. Aroma of ripe fruit and bandaid. Taste is a battle between the soft fruits and caramel from the base beer and the aggresive peaty smoke of the barrel aging. Interesting and extreme, but harder to like I think.
