Keg at Beavertown Brewery, Tottenham, London. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Really big, rich, hoppy, malty, mango, tangerine aroma. Tastes similar, rich, hoppy, malty, mango, tangerine, slight sweetness. Dangerously drinkable Imperial IPA.

Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Thanks to Leighton for procuring at the brewery and hauling back. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry. Good fine carbonation. Light sweet pale malts support stunning hops. Lovely light hop skunk, lots of fresh hop spice. Pine. Tropical fruits, mango pulp. Mild marmalade. Pink grapefruit. More hop spice. Light finish. Hops spice lingers on. Pow! Bowled over! What a beer. I think we can say, without fear of contraception, that Beavertown have arrived!

Craft near Tottenham Court Road. Cask. Lightly hazy amber with a small pale cream colour head. Nose of fruity hops from 3ft away. Palate is a little soft, mild fine carbonation. Big skunky hops, huge. Pine. Little marmalade. Fair bit of hop spice. Light airy finish. Compared to the bottle the cask version is a little stodgy and lacks the flavour complexity as well. But it’s still stupid drinkable and would be a 4.1 on it’s own merit.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy amber/orange pour with a frothy off white head, big tropical hop aroma with fresh pine forest, formidable hop profile of mango, pine and tangerine in the taste, some dankness as well, quite a bold malt background, bitter grapefruit, light carbonation, this is superb. So easy to drink and so glad I had a 660ml to myself.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Aroma is bursting from the glass with dank, citrus and juicy fruit, little tropical fruit and chive. Clouded bright orange coloured pour with a thin white Head. Flavour is composed of a base of clean slightly biscuit base malts that provide a platform for the exceptional hops. Juicy fruit, orange rind and lemon citrus all mix together beautifully. Palate is semi sweet resin, but finishes dry. Uber smooth and evaporates off the tongue. This beer is a ligit world class Double IPA.

660ml bottle. Beermerchants.com. Cloudy, dark, orangey gold. Thin, sticky, white head. Sweet, tinned pineapple, mango, and peach. Piny, resinous, zesty grapefruit to match. Light, soft, chewy toffee malts underpin all of that. Taste is pretty sweet to start, and gets all zesty, and pithy, citric bitter soon after. Very juicy, light chewy, palate. Finishes long, resinous, zesty bitter. Fresh as a daisy. Silly easy drinking. Delightful.

Bottle split at Bruce’s Pad, thanks to Kenny and Kempfield the mule, 04/11/14. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white swirl and edgeing. Nose is danko hops, pine, bitter tropicana, grapefruit, mango, dusty hops, caramel, orange pith. Taste comprises bitter citric peel, spice, dank hop, pine, grapefruit, mango. Medium + body, fine carbonation, smooth and massageing, pitch perfect feel with semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Stupidly good DIPA !!!

Bottle thanks tomKenny via Leighton. It pours hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is soft, juicy fruit chewing gum, candy, passion fruit, mango, tangerine, pineapple and banana. The taste is crisp, piney, sherbet action, apricot, peachy, apricot, five alive fruit juice, mild pepper, passion fruit, sherbet and mild booze with a dry, tropical fruit finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Crazy tasty and drinkable.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours hazy, orange-gold with a thick, creamy white head. Huge, dank hop aroma that just oozes with juicy fruits, lots of orange, tangerine and papaya, with background pine. Medium to big sweet flavor with thick, pulpy fruit juice, supporting pale bread sweetness, restrained bitterness, rich orange, mango, grapefruit, papaya. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation; moderately chewy. Sticky, robust and resinous to finish with mild alcohol warmth, loads more gooey citrus and tropical fruits. Absolutely outstanding. Quite ballsy but still very well balanced from beginning to end. Great, juicy hop character. Exceedingly drinkable. Right on par with the best DIPAs I’ve had. World-class.
