A chestnut, tawny red premium ale. Brewed with roasted malts and English Fuggle hops, to give a smoky, spicy hoppiness on the nose, leading to a molasses, nutty palate with a light fruity hop dryness.

Cask a the Lych Gate Tavern, Wolverhampton. Mid-brown with a creamy head and lots of lacing. Malt, toast, acorn scent. Touch of astringency. Sweet berry/nut taste turns to an angular sour-bitter at the end of the sip. Medium to long bitter-astringent finish. Not my cup of tea sadly.

Cask at the Simeon Arms during the Isle of Wight Jolly. Pours clear amber-gold with a creamy, white head. The nose holds bread, toasted caramel and faint chocolate. Light to medium sweet flavor with dried berries, dry caramel, leaves, toasted toffee. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with dry and crunchy leaves, further toasty caramel. OK.
