Bottle from Rasmusott. Pours clear copperish brown with a medium offwhite head. Aroma and taste is peaty as fuck, smoke, meat, malty. Ugh.

Bottle. Amber pour. Aroma of peat, smoke and amber malt. Taste has sweet smoke, mild peat, amber malt, caramel and a nice whisky-ish finish. I like this.

500ml bottle from Aldi. Copper colour with a decent white head. Sweet, smoky aroma that carries over into the flavour. Maybe a touch sweet, but overall rather pleasant

Bottle at The Counting House. It pours cloudy orange - amber with a small off-white head. The aroma is rich, oily, smoked peat, meaty, medicinal, orange muffin and toasty grain. The taste is rich, smoked, medicinal vibe, peat, earth, wood, meaty, toasty grain, quite drying, some soft orange and apricot. The finish is pretty dry and smokey. I rather like the aroma, but I couldn’t drink a whole load of it. Okay.

500ml bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop, kilmahog. Pours amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma brings peat, caramel, smoke. Taste is strong peat, sulphur, smoke, honey, strong suplhuric peaty lingering finish. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel. From first sip I knew this would be a tough one to finish. Bit too much peat for me.

Bottle from Oak Tree Inn shop, Balmaha. Appearance - a beautiful deep amber to red with a creamy off white head. Nose - mainly biscuits but with a hint of peat smoke. Taste - struck match, burning hay, light peat. Light sweetness on the finish like honey. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy yet smoky texture and a long dry smoky finish. Overall - good beer. The smoke isn’t overwhelmingly peaty but rather like a campfire. Very enjoyable, much like a Schlenkerla beer.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Gloucester Beer Festival, 22/4/2016. Copper in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of peak smoke, iodine tangerine fruit and leafy hops. Flavour had sweetish fruits, plenty more peated malts, leading to a decent, toasty, finish. Good.
