On tap at brewey Bermondsey. Dark brown clear beer. Light chocolate flavour. On the border of a Dunkel and a schwarz style. Not so ashy charcoal as a schwarz. Tasty enough though. A good chocolate biscuit lager . Decent.

Bottle from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Dark brown pour with a quickly dissipating beige head. Nose of raisin, cola, dark roasted malt, prunes. Flavours of chocolate, light smoke, raisin, cola, splash of licorice. Dry, sweet finish. Good.

On tap at the brewery during their little Oktoberfest shindig. Pours a lightly watery, dark brown with some sticky, white head. Classic nose, malt, dark breads, mild caramel, a hint of smoke. Flavor follows, soggy bread, pumpernickel, malt, some yeast, just a hint of matchstick. Finishes a bit watery. Overall, decent.

Keg at the brewery. A cola, nut brown coloured pour with a fine beige head. Aroma is nutty malts, brown bread, rye, raw bread. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody brown malts, brown sugars and Rye malts.. Little powdered choc in the finish. Palate is medium bodied, rounded, moderate carbonation. Good malty beverage. Lingering choc and black forest gateau.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours rich brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds nicely toasted malts, cocoa, nips of scorched earth. Light-medium sweet flavour with more bittersweet cocoa, mellow ash, burnt biscuits, earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Somewhat dry on the finish, more ashy roast, faint rubber, and baking cocoa. Good stuff.
