Tap. Leeds International Beer Festival. Pale amber. Soft haze. Thin, dense, lasting, cream coloured head. Nose has cake fruits. Vanilla malts. Some dried vine fruits. Taste is sweet, with some vinous dryness. Pretty easy going, with a fruity sweet finish. Ok.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours lightly hazed orange-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Lots of piney hops in the nose, some caramel, ripe orange. Medium sweet flavour with decent alcohol kick, bitter line, lightly toasted bread, grain, orange rind, marmalade. Medium to full bodiednwith fine to average carbonation. Warming finish with some acute alcohol notes, more line, dry bread, rindy citrus. Not bad overall.

On tap at the brewery. A hazed reddy amber coloured pour with a a sticky beige tan head. Aroma is burnt toffee, brown sugars, earthy, faint woodland berries. Flavour is composed of medium sweet malts, brown sugars, burnt unrefined sugars, tangy raspberry jam. Palate is medium sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation, frothy and tangy finish. Good complexity.

Keg at the brewery. It pours hazy deep amber with a medium off-white head. The aroma is toasted brown, bitter - sweet, toffee, fruit cake, dried fruits, candied orange peel and toast. The taste is bitter upfront, piney, resinous, peppery spice, toffee, burnt cake, alcohol boost, wood and a touch of toffee with a dry wood finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Nice hoppy American style barley wine.
