Brewed in the tradition of the artisan brewers of Leipzig, this rare style wheat beer is named after the Gose River in Lower Saxony, Germany. This style went extinct twice, but is now enjoying a revival in Germany and around the world. Dry, tart, citrusy and deliciously refreshing, our Gose is perfect for a hot summer’s day.

22oz bomber gifted by fiulijn. Bottle dated 6.23.14, so almost 2 years old. Love the label art. Pop the cap and foam slowly rises up the neck. Poured into St. Louis flute glass. As expected, the head is strong and voluminous. Very hazy pale color. Aroma has light coriander, light fruit ester. A little sweet and a little herbal-citrus. Flavor is again a very fine blend of ester and citric herbal character. Not tart but light with a fuller body. Finishes light. I’ve been drinking a lot of Gose in the New World in the past few years and this is one of the more superior ones. The average is way low, damn Canadians.

A hazed golden gose with a very thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light curacao, ground cherries, lactic acid, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light cloves, curacao, light tartness, OK. Bottle at Ottawa Xmas gathering 2015.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of light tart notes is refreshing and pleasant. Taste is also dominated by tart notes with hints of salt. Body is light with good carbonation. Refreshing and pleasant but maybe a tad one-dimensional.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow, heavy carbonation, huge rocky white head. Tart citric aroma. Light lemonny golden ale flavor, restrained salt and spice - a bit maggi/clamshells in the aftertaste, otherwise nothing you wont find in a (white) ipa. Medium body, bubbly mouthfeel. I don’t think they quite hit the mark for a Gose - needs to be slightly more out there, but a pleasant fresh drink nonetheless.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Clear, light golden yellow with white head. Dominant aroma of citrus and yeast. Subtle lemon and tartness on the citrus. Same flavour with a salty overtone. Light, but buttery texture. I would describe it as a light, salty, buttery, white wheat ale.

2014-08-03, bottle from Hillside Liquor, Victoria, 7-4-7-3-16=37
Cloudy blond color, but also with a orange hue and a bright light; generous, persistent head. Very nice aroma, bready, with evident lactic. Well carbonated, with soft mouthfeel; there is some malt flavor, lemon, salt and lactic acid, each in moderate quantity; light crackers.
Excellent thirst quencher; I will see if it develops further, in a few months.

2014-07-02, draught at Darby’s Pub, Vancouver, 7-3-7-3-16=36
Cloudy light blond color with small head. The aroma is lightly lemony, fresh, lactic, hint of berries. Soft mouthfeel; it has a mild bready flavor, lactic acid, lemon touch, and the saltiness is well integrated; great balance, finishing with correct bitterness.
Excellent Gose.
The next step would be adding some smoked malt for even more greatness.

Hazy light tan, the aroma has a bit of footy yeast, otherwise maybe a hint of tartness. Tart, with a bit of wheatiness, fresh, and a hint of saltiness. This is a decent wheat ale...doesn’t really scream gose...not great.

650ml bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out light notes of salt, some noble hops, some grass and biscuity malt. Flavour brings out moderate salt, some grassy hops, a little bit of spice, and biscuity malt. The salt isn't *that* dominant, but is well-situated. Thirst-quenching and solid, but nothing spectacular.
