Keg at Mikkeller Bar London. Pours dense black-brown with a creamy tan head. Nice old-school RIS, lots of well toasted malts, burnt sugar, baking cocoa, raisins, a touch of ashy bitterness. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warmingfinish, a little sticky, more ash and baking cocoa, dried berries. Solid all around impy.

Aroma of roast malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of burnt malt, anise, coffee and chocolate. The finish is roasty with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Growler at RBWG ’15 Grand Tasting @ Coppertail, thanks to whomever shared this one, 21/02/15. Black topped with a decent tan swirl. Nose is sweet malt tempered with rich roast, biscuit, spice, chocolate. Taste comprises rich roast maltings, toffee fudge, dark chocolate, molasses, sweet licks. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough impy, not a huge amount of complexity but an easy drinker with a good balance and never too sweet.
