Vrij lange, kruidige afdronk.

Moderately sweet taste. Vinous. Caramel & toast. Dried fruit. Some hay / cardboard. Low to light bitterness. Generally good with little off-things.

Pours cloudy dark brown with a lasting, foamy, beige head. The aroma contains malt, caramel, raisins, dates and other fruits, some licorice and spices. It tastes medium sweet and - in the finish - light bitter and even light sour. The alcohol is well hidden. Creamy/oily texture, light, fizzy carbonation, long finish. Reminded me a bit of Rochefort 10, though not as complex and intense, of course. I find this very tasty.

Deep brown with a tall head. Dark, non-roasted malts, dark fruits, a healthy dose of spice but not overwhelming, sweet crystal malt, rice fig/raisin/plum finish. Hearty and well balanced.

Bottle. Nose is bread, candy sugar, licorice, malt, fennel, hint of almond. Taste is bread, yeast, malts, leading to brown sugar then fennel, licorice, hint of menthol, berry, grape, candy sugar, spice. The Mouthfeel is sticky. It?s a nice traditional Belgian Christmas beer, and perfectly cheerful, if a little short on the finish, but it?s a minor example.
