On tap in Brugge during my last trip Nov-Dec 2015. Pours a maroon red with an amber hue, the beige head hanging around for a while on both of the glasses I had. Malty nose with dried fruits, the taste similar in nature. Semi-sweet with some spice notes, caramel/toffee hints in with the seasonal dried fruits. Not overly strong in alcohol or flavour, but decent enough.

Donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is krachtig, licht bitter en licht zoet, caramel en toffee. Voor een echt winterbier iets te licht wat mij betreft, echter geen slechte keuze.

Bottle - Dark malts and nice raisins. Deep maroon with a rich beige head. Sweet raisins and toffee with a nice long pleasant finish. Nothing particularly exciting mind you, but a well crafted and enjoyable beer. With so many overspiced and boozy winter beers, this shows nice restraint.
