24th Jan 2015: third of a pint, on-tap at Cotteridge Wines. Almost clear golden body with a white topping. Good blend of flavours with a semi-sweet tropical fruit and maltiness in the aroma. The taste a mixed bag of citrus fruits again with a good malty feel to the affair. Nice, cleansed my palate for the onslaught that followed.

(Keg at Oljenkorsi, 20140226) The beer poured deep golden and almost clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, nettles and mildly malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, nettles, grass, herbalness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. A nice brew with pleasantly interesting hop profile.

Draught @ Kitty’s, Helsinki

Pours orange with a small smooth head. Aroma of exotic fruits, crisp maltiness, caramel, berries and citrus. Taste is smooth, malty and a bit musty with notes of exotic fruits, caramel, berries and citrus. Finish is musty, slightly hoppy and caramely with some exotic fruits, grass and fruits. Okay, a bit stuffy and musty pale ale.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Gold with creamy head. Has a dry hopped aroma with a relatively dry tropical fruitiness for its taste, but not a very stated one.

Draft from BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush opening night on 29 November 2013. Poured a hazy yellow with a scummy white head. Aroma of grassy hop, light sugary sweetness and peardrops. Initial flavours of melon, sherbet and cereal. Finish was peaches, burnt sugar and some pine bitterness. Drinkable pale ale, but I just tend to find that these NZ hops are too delicate to make for truly scrummy pales...
