Sweet, roast malts, big coffee and chocolate all star in this beer. Brewed with lactose to smooth the bitterness of darker malts and add a light creaminess to this sessionable dark beer. We use wonderful whole bean Hasbean coffee for this brew.

Bottle – pours a dark brown almost black colour with a thick frothy creamy light brown coloured head. A cappuccino coffee aroma including the chocolate. Moderately sweet coffee flavour, a little cocoa and a gentle spicy bitter finish.

05.05.2016, 0,5l bottle (as 3,8%) @ home:
Nice light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich and dry roasted, espresso, dark malts, minerals, lactose, nuts, caramel, chocolate, mild grassy smoked chillies, hops. Taste is dry roasted, weeds, roasted grain, minerals, mild espresso, grass, hops, lactose, burnt caramel, cocoa, mild grassy chillies. Medium bitterness, slightly dry mineraly mouthfeel. The first sip is very burnt and dry mineraly. But the taste kind if grows on you, so it ends up pretty nice, specifically for the low ABV. Still, it could have been pretty amazing if the taste had lived up to the lovely aroma.

Draft @ Tilquin English Fest ’16, day2.

From cask at In de Wildeman. Clear, very dark brown to black with a thin, creamy, brown head. Roasty-malty aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and some caramel. Sweetish, roasty-malty taste of coffee, dark chocolate and caramel, followed by a short, roasty-bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, flat. Nice!
