This mahogany red beer is a beautiful marriage of malts and hops. Elegantly balanced, notes of caramel, toffee, and toasted grains are complemented by bright, citrusy and tropical American hop character with a smooth finish.

Can. Hazy red/brown body with a thin beige head. Steady fizz. Faint lacing. Aroma of candy, toffee apple and nuts. Flavour of crisp citrus and caramel. Dry finish. Thin body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. I thought this was like a hopped-up Bitter. Rather nice.

330ml can @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours reddish ruby amber, off-white head. Aroma is nutty malts, light caramel. Taste is smooth, light caramel malt, lacking defined citrus hops, presumed faded. Ok, but lacks a bit of life.

Keg at the brewery, 07/05/16. Lightly hazed orange amber with a decent light beige cap. Nose is pine, caramel malt, earthy hop, toffee. Taste comprises pine resin, red grapefruit, orange pith, caramel malt, toasted bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with a juicy hop rinse. Solid hoppy amber.

Can at home in London - sourced from the London Brewers Market. Pours a rather attractive reddish-amber with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has a bit of that diesel hop character (some of you will know exactly what I mean), along with suggestions of pine and subtly rindy orange. Light sweet flavour with mellow piney bitterness, some earthy notes, ripening citrus fruits, lightly toasted grains, dried toffee and berries. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with just a hint of hoppy resin, more lightly toasted malts, faint toasted sugar and caramel, some earth, ripe orange, mild rindy bitterness. Very drinkable stuff, but perhaps just a bit too basic.

Keg at the brewery. A hazed amber reddy coloured pour with a lasting sticky beige head. Aroma is rounded semi sweet malts, nutty and toffee with a hint of smoke. Toasted brown bread on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of nutty rauch malts, little twiggy berry, little metallic in the finish. Palate is medium light bodied, highish carbonation, drying finish, OK.
