This entry is for the UK brewed 10.8% version, which has a different recipe to the 11% beer brewed in the US.
Part of Fanzine #27, September 2019.
Say “Hello” and “Goodbye” to this decadent delicacy. A smooth, flavored Imperial Milk Stout of Monarch proportions. Waves of bitter and sweet wash across the palate, with erupting notes of toasted coconut, roasted coffee and hints of sweet crème brûlée. All melded into a malted tectonic plate.
Aloha – Hello I must be going.

330ml can. Black appearance, frothy beige head. Sweet desert like nose, strong coconut, nestled milk chocolate. Taste build on both, excellent slick full bodied coconut and rich chocolate impressions, with a good strength to it. Very good

31/I/20 - 33cl can from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ nieuwjaarsetentje (De Brug), BB: 9/IX/20 (2020-83)
Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy dark brown beer, little adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of malts, some caramel, quite some coconut, nice roast, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty bitter, coconut, sweet touch, some carmel, nice roast, some coffee. Aftertaste: more coconut, chocolate, bit of caramel, nice, pretty bitter, some alcohol, bounty, lovely stuff!

Can from Geers, Oostakker. Pours cloudy black with a slowly diminishing, frothy, dark beige head. Aroma of vanilla ice cream, coconut, Bounty, milk chocolate, creamy coffee, whipped cream, meringue, salted caramel. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, very creamy, chocolatey, nice coconut touch. Bittersweet mocha then with a pinch of salt & umami, soft roast underneath. Dryish, toasty, herbal hoppy finish, more chocolate & cream with warming coffee liqueur-like alcohol, hinting at Malibu liqueur too. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Sweet Stout, with all the elements connecting well. Lovely!
