Huge, dense, slowly collapsing yellow head over finely carbonated orange beer, cloudy. Lactic, sourish, Brett-like, citrus in the nose, further aromas of (wild) mushrooms, barnyard, old wine. Deep, complex and tantalizing. Bread - and Brett... Lactic acid, fruitacids and.... malonic, maybe? Fresh double cream, red fruit; alcohol and fusels in the finish. Again a ’wild’ streak - mushrooms, and, indeed, noble rot. Warming up, strawberry liqueur. Very spritzy, acidity making it very lively, refreshing. Long lasting acidity in feel and aftertaste. Only medium bodied. Superb realisation. It’s a true sipping beer - which means it is ANYTHING BUT a Saison. Imagine drinking this whilst mowing a field... OK, that doesn’t diminish any of its qualities. Grand merci à Jean H!

Bottle split at Mother Arch, big thanks to Harry, 06/09/14. Lightly hazed orange with a good sized off white head that dissipates to spotting and edgework. Nose carries good white wine ba vibes, light vanilla, spice, mellow fruits, woody rinse, tarte citrics, peach. Taste comprises a white grape tang, vanilla, subtle wine tones, woody rinse, light must, lychee, funk, tropical infusion. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Subtle BA sour - good stuff!

10/11/12/12/12/12

Bottle at Kernel with Harry. thanks Harry. Hazy gold amber. Lasting white head. Decent sour aroma with some sweetness. Good sour. Bready sweetness. Bit of caramel. Pretty good. Sweetness. Sour and sweet some hop on the finish. It’s just a touch sweet but the honey bread and hop is good. Barrel adds some character. Good.

A clear copper gold with a filmy white head. It has a musty tart saison aroma. Wonderfully soft mouthfeel. Tart musty sour, light oakiness, very approachable.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Alexey and Refaela’s place. Thanks zvikar. Cloudy golden-orange. Big bretty aroma with barnyard, manure, cheesy notes, fruits and oak. Sourish funky flavor, a bit sweetish, with fruitiness, oak and a bitter finish with a bit of apples. Medium-bodied, lively carbonation. Very good.

Hazy dark blond colour. Pleasant mild acidity with wine barrel notes. Very good.

Hazy blond color, no head. Some aroma of Brett, some mauve, lightly fruity. Lean mouthfeel, quite dry; the Brett is evident, but is also has a nice touch of citrus peel, and bittering cedar in the final.
I was more impressed by the elegance of this beer when I had it from bottle.

2014-04-14, bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver, 9-5-8-4-18=44
Beautiful golden color, slightly hazy with creamy and persistent head, very fine perlage. Harmonious aroma, lightly fruity, with some Brett, cellar smell, wet hay, Alpine toma cheese, a hint of bread. The mouthfeel is very smooth, and not too dry; gentle malt flavor, with well defined Brett presence leading to a mildly astringent final; pleasant lingering fruitiness, white grapes; correctly the bitterness is not very high, leaving more room to the mild acidity and astringency.
Extremely well crafted beer, harmonious and intriguing. It's a pity that Le Trou Du Diable beers are expensive beyond reason.
