Our first beer from the revived Sullivan’s Brewing Company is Maltings Irish Red Ale. It’s a refreshingly balanced, ruby tinted classic Irish ale with a depth of malt flavour giving rich biscuit and gentle caramel notes.

Bottle from Falken Getränkemarkt, Schaffhausen. Hazy dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and dark fruit. Flavor is medium sweet. Sweet finish. 140725

Can. Dark red brown with a cm of pale beige head that lasts very well. Aroma of stewed fruit, dark sugars, bread. Malty and sweet but stays defined even before light spiced bitterness. Not really my thing but very well done.

440ml can. Clear reddy brown with a big beige head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruits, bready malts. Taste is sweet and malty, caramel, toffee, dark/berry fruits, bready, light herbal hops and a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice Irish Red.

0,44 l can. Pours brown with small, quickly dissipating light tan head. Somewhat reddish if you look at it towards bright light. Aroma of caramel, some dried fruit, toffee and some floral notes. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light and drinkable. Finish is medium long and slightly sour.

Taste starts medium sweet caramelly and toasted, following is nutty, dark fruity and grassy, mouthfeel is smooth, while finish is mild bitter. Bottled 500ml. - at Goblet Zagreb, shared with Marko. Brownish coloured, medium sized off-white head, light caramel in the nose. Caramel, nutty, light herbal and discreet biscuity touch with dry bitterish finish.

Bottle with Ogi and Brada at Goblet. Dark red, lightly brownish body, off-white creamy head. Creamy, bit caramelly and floral aroma. Lean, dry, bit yeasty, low caramelly, bit tea, some autolysis, ends lightly herbal, hoppy. Okay!
