Richard Roper’s brew combines his love of hops with his affinity for spicy Belgian ales. The toasty caramel sweetness from the malt and Belgian candi sugar are balanced by distinct citrus hop notes, spicy yeast fermentation and hunts of orange and coriander.

Great looking beer. Dark clear orange poor with thick lasting head. Hoppy and spicy aroma. Hoppy flavour, cut by the sugar sweetness. Balanced finish

Bottle. Translucent amber body, thin off-white head. Estery nose with clover honey and flower petals. Sharp, harsh body, with bitter, floral, citrusy hops, clove, pear, white grape, bubblegum, and alcohol. Salty/leathery mouthfeel. Leaves a long, bitter, cloying, herbal aftertaste. Unpleasant.

Bottle from a trade with cbkschubert. Pours clear copper color with white head. Aromas of spicy Belgian yeast, candy sugar, toasted malts. Sweet and spicy flavors with some dough and alcohol. Some citrus also. I’m getting a strange aftertaste. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Thanks Craig.

12 oz bottle into tulip. Pours a clear deep gold with a medium off-white head that falls somewhat quick into a blanket and collar of foam. Aroma is pepper, banana, grain. Taste is very much like pale lager grain mixed with a Belgian yeast strain, but that sounds worse than it is. It’s acutally really tasty. There’s some cheese here. It has a somewhat tangy finish. Carbonation is medium-high, body is medium-full. Ni c e .

12 oz bottle. Pours golden amber with a white head. Yeasty aroma of bubble gum and cloves with a little fruitiness behind it. Flavor has some caramel and toffee with the yeasty bubble gum and spicy notes, along with some hop bitterness. Pretty well done, really.

Pours deep, clear gold into a Sam glass. Bright white head recedes leaving spot lacing to skim surface. Sweet yeast and candi aromas. Crisp sweet biscuit and hot yeast from front to back.
