Typical buttery, nutty, sweet bready innis aroma. Some wood, and vanilla, and lots of butter. The oloroso doesnt seem to add much other than making the finish sweeter than usual. Meh.

A hazed dark reddish amber ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, dark fruits, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet dark fruity malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, oxidized and thin. Bottle is 7 years old.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with caramel, treacle-toffee, dried fruit, nuts, orange, a touch of vanilla, oak wood and sweet fruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, raisins, dried fruit, syrup, roasted nuts, hints of oak wood and vanilla. Low bitterness. Medium body, quite sweet. Tasty and interesting, more sweet fruit and sugar than malt and hops. Quite enjoyable.

500 ml bottle, sent for review Oct 2013 ("Sep2014" etched on bottle as "best by"). And yet I salted it away til now. Light amber color. Poured in a tulip, it kicks up a puffy IPA style head, fed by just a few bubbles. Some sherry scent in the bottle that wafts away once poured. Taste comes in malty and with a bit pf phenol. At 7.4% alcohol, it probably does not improve with age. Some sherry and oak if it sits on the tongue. A bit of jaggery sugar-type sweetness, and a lot more effervescence when I tilt the glass. Come to think of it, there are not too many lighter-colored beers that get the wood-aged treatment. Like all the I&G beers, it is much lighter than one would expect from a BA beer, and has its own combination of lighter mouthfeel and oak or whiskey notes.

Clear bright gold - amber beer. A small and very pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and surprisingly minerally crisp. Fresh light malt, thin cream and light barrel induced vanilla. Light touch of dried fruits and a whisper of bitter wood. Finishes light and fruity fresh with the sherry finally making an appearance in the aftertaste. This was lighter than expected or wanted but in kinda works and the beer slipped down easy.

Single from the LCBO in their regular box (with a trippie design). Pours a clean golden colour with a slight amber hue. The white head is fizzy, but does stay longer than I expected it and not much lacing though. Big butter nose with caramel and fruit notes. The Sherry alcohol is mild in the background, blending well with the rest. Light butterscotch taste with hints of bananas and other fruits. Decent light hops in the finish with some very mild dryness. The sherry adds a nice little sweetness as this is another pleasant Innis & Gunn treat.

Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt, carmel, and straw. The flavor of sweet with notes of malt, fruits, yeast, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.
