A complex blend of fine English Malts, Blackout is a porter ale produced from a unique 1930’s recipe which has only recently been recovered. The rich, smooth taste will help you relax and unwind, but treat with care, this porter is not called Blackout for nothing. We hope you enjoy a taste of the past.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - dark brown to black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - toffee and liquorice more than chocolate. Taste - very dark chocolate going into liquorice again. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and quite an elegant finish. Overall - lovely porter.

Keg at the Euston Tap - London. Pours brown with a foamy, beige head. Lots of slightly artificial chocolate powder in the aroma, perhaps some coffee. Medium sweet flavor with sugary milk chocolate and subtle roasted malts. Light to medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish with a bit of earthy bitterness and more semi-artificial cocoa. So so.
