Traditionally craft brewed in Oxfordshire using organically grown English Barley Malt and Organic Target Hops.
Scarecrow is a wonderfully refreshing Golden Ale evoking lazy, hazy days of summer in golden meadows & ripe barleyfields. A winning combination of tart citric fruit flavours perfectly balanced by a rich biscuity maltiness and rounded off with a spicy bittersweet finish.

Bottle courtesy of my Mum. Pours clear dark golden with an off white head. Aroma of grain, cereal, corn and malt. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and bitter. Light bodied with prickly carbonation. Not too great

Poured from 500ml bottle(room temp) medium gold with a fairly large head of foam that dissipated slowly, leaving a fine layer.
The smell when I opened the bottle had an initial air of skunkiness but that settled down quickly leaving a kind of malty nose with some nutty notes.
The taste has some malt up front but then, a rather citrusy hoppy bitter flavour moves in and it's a bit harsh on the tongue. The finish also has that harsh bitterness to it..hmm...maybe I'm not a fan of Target hops(as per label).
Bottom line: I like a lot of UK brews and appreciate the fact that they can make a flavourful beer with rather low abv %s but..this is one that I won't make a habit of buying. I'll blame the hops. :^(

Bottle from Systembolaget Hansacompagniet, Malmรถ. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and light hoppy - fruity and grass. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. The bitterness is very sharp. 250813

This one came in a 4-pack of different brews from Wychwood, at the LCBO. This organic golden pale ale pours a slightly hazy, golden-amber colour, with a creamy-frothy head that has decent retention and thick lacing all around. Pretty good looking for a beer of this type. After the first pour, aromas of a fresh pilsner come out of this one. After breathing, cereal and caramel malts, alcohol join in. The taste is quite mild compared to the scent. Slick oily mouthfeel with a little dryness from the hop in the finish. Very light grain and cereal flavours. Still, not a bad golden ale, especially being an organic one (not as weird as some I have had).
