21st January 2023
Almost clear deep amber brown beer, decent bubbly tan head. Smooth and airy palate, fairly dry, reasonable fine minerally carbonation. Airy dark malts, a nice blend of dark chocolate and milk chocolate malts, about 65% and 35%. The bourbon is smooth and well rounded and is nicely ripe fruit laden. A light and fairly dry finish. Nice job. This bottle is 15 years old and the some and yet remains smooth and fairly fresh and shows zero signs of oxidisation. Light but rich and drinkalble.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with medium beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong roast, tobacco, cocoa, bourbon. Medium mouth, vanilla, roast, chocolate, great barrel character but not over boozy, really enjoyed this one.

750 ml bottle from Imbibe Wine. Nose is big vanilla, chocolate, oak, candisugar, and light bourbon; like a cross somewhere between BA quads and stouts. Clear very dark brown with a small tan head. Flavor is vanilla, sweetness, chocolate, and a small toffee note.
