375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is quite hot, with lots of cognac, alcohol, and dark fruits. Flavour is very boozy, with lots of cognac and booze upfront, followed by caramel and dark fruits. Low sweetness but high booziness. Solid stuff.

375 ml bottle into chalice; 2014 vintage, bottled on 8/13/2015. Pours hazy dark brown color with a 1 finger dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of raisin, plum, fig, cherry, orange peel, red grape, pear, apple, cognac, toasted oak, pepper, clove, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, light chocolate/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, cognac barrel, and dark/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, cherry, orange peel, red grape, pear, apple, cognac, toasted oak, pepper, clove, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, light chocolate/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate yeast/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of raisin, plum, fig, cherry, orange peel, grape, pear, apple, cognac, toasted oak, pepper, clove, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cognac barrel, and dark/bready malt flavors; with great malt/barrel/yeast spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from yeast and oak spiciness as well. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, fairly creamy/bready, and lightly slick/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding BA quadrupel style. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cognac barrel, and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

2014 Vintage - 375 c&c from Malt and Vine. Pours murky ruddy dark brown with a slight beige smear for head. Aroma of tobacco, darker fruits, and wood. Near full bodied. Flavor is darker fruits, wood, brandy, and strange chocolate notes. Not to mention treacle. It’s certainly not dry, nor is it very bitter, but the brandy generates lift off. Really tasty.

Donkerbruin bier zonder schuim. Smaak is krachtig, licht zoetzuur met sporen van drop, chokolade en cognac/bessen. Jammer dat het bier vrij "dood" is anders had de waardering nog hoger geweest. Smaak blijft redelijk lang hangen.

Semi-opaque dark murky ruby pour, with a decent head with no retention. Smells like dried fruit (raisins, figs), brewed coffee, chocolate. Tastes like prunes, cocoa, dark chocolate, cognac, cherries, white wine, stuff like that. Light body with medium carbonation, sweet and spicy (due to the alcohol) aftertaste.

Bottle at Uiltje. Dark brown pour. Aroma of boozy grape and raisinous malt. Flavor of caramelised malt and raisin at first, than the cognac kicks in with some boozy white grape. Rich taste, good stuff.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at home Saturday 16th May 2015 Murky brown with a creamy and sticky tan head. The barrel ageing is quite subtle considering it spent 11 months sat in the Cognac casks. The beer is absolutely fine, some spice, fruity, smooth and yet it does lack flavour in fact it’s a tad thin if truth be known. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2
