A new Double IPA we were attempting to make more in the West Coast-style, but it came out pretty hazy, and quite frankly, pretty damn juicy too. Fermented with a yeast strain that’s new to us, it’s definitely on the fruitier side but has a firm, West Coast-style bitterness and finishes very dry. Name is a pun off Cool Runnings, of course, and relates to the runoff process when lautering into the brew kettle.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated April 28, 2021. Aroma is very hop forward with loads of guava, passion fruit, tropical citrus and lighter notes of tangerine mango, pineapple and dank resin notes. Light cracker malt notes with light alcohol notes. Pours a hazy, pale, golden-orange with a medium large, thick, pillowy, white head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges. Moderate lacing and small legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light cracker malt notes and hints of oats. Moderately strong bitterness and light alcohol notes. Lots of guava, passion fruit, and tropical citrus. Quite a bit of dank, resin notes. Some orange, tangerine, pineapple, mango and papaya notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really solid DIPA. Loads of nice, tropical hop notes balanced with soft malt profile. Alcohol notes, bitterness and sweetness are all well balanced and allow the hops to shine.

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy bright yellow color ale with a large white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of huge juicy notes of citrus and tropical notes with some residual sugar notes is quite enticing. Taste is also a great mix of huge juicy and citrusy notes with some residual sugar notes and no discernible bitterness. Body is full with good carbonation. Super enjoyable double NEIPA.

16 oz. can, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out herbal hops, dank notes, and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with dank hops, weedy notes, and biscuity malt. Dank, weedy, citrusy finish. Good stuff.

Cloudy, with a sort of dullish colour. Not much head. Has a deep tropical note...not the greatest but there's enough decent papaya and pineapple stuff in here to make it work. A touch of sweetness up front, and maybe a hint of alcohol, then the tropical hop notes, abundant yeastiness kick in. More sweetness comes through the finish. so it ends nicely, not harsh at all.

Can from Cap Tap. Pours hazy grapefruit color with a foamy white head that deconstructed rather rapidly. Aroma is juicy and at least half-way to dank. Med body or better. It is very juicy. Mixed tropicals/pale stone/citrus. I call out green melon, citrus and something like guava. Lots of room for interpretation here. Very juicy; very hoppy; at least moderately bitter - tho I think more. It's very flavorful and great tasting.
