This is an awesome collaboration with Mikkeller and Hill Farmstead. It will mess with your mind as an IPA designed to mimic Limoncello. A slightly sour mash, combined with Lactose for sweetness, tonnes of lemon Zest and hopped to death with Sorachi Ace and Citra. Bottle, cask and keg. [Labeled as "Lemon Cello IPA" in the US Market.]

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy golden, rich head. Lemony nose with some kumquat. Sweet and sour with full body and bold, rounded mouthfeel. Distinct lemon flavour, some kumquat and tangerine. Resiny bitterness and evident alcohol heat in the finish. One big flavour, not a lot of nuances.

Flaska från SB. Kraftigt grumlig vätska med tjockt skum. Citronaromer och lite blommig. Sur smak som sedan ersätts av en kraftig beska är någon rivit ut tungan. Sedan återkommer citroner, igen. Har nog aldrig smakat något liknande förut. God, nää. Speciell, jaa.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. 9.1%. Hazy, pale gold. Thin, tight, white head. Lovely aroma of sweet tea dunked, digestive biscuits. Ripe mandarin. Orange zest. Hint of lemon. None of which sets you up for the taste to come. Dry, tart, lemon sourness. Sharp, lightly sour palate. Very fresh and zingy. No way does this feel the ABV. Finish is dry, sour, with any bitterness showing up for the finale. It’s not my favourite, but nevertheless, it’s the sort of beer that makes obsessing about beer worthwhile...

On draught at Mikkeller Bar SF. Hazy yellow color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Citrus, hops and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with a citrusy lemon character and flavors of floral hops and toasted malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering lemony hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draft. Golden beer with a cream head. Brett and aroma with light citrus. Tart flavor with grapefruit/lemon. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Tartness/light sourness lingers with lemon and light malt backing.

Pours hazy deep golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, bubblegum, lime and citrus. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with a long slightly sour, lime, citrus and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. It pours a hazy, golden body and a small, dense, white head. Rather strange aroma and flavor, with some sweetness, lemon, oranges, bubble gum and a herbal touch. The flavor has bitterness too. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. The ABV well hidden. Decent bitter and mostly lemony finish. A weird one, fun to taste, but I can’t see myself buying it again. 140418
