22oz bottle Bottleshare at HBS. Clear deep caramel brown pour. Thin ring of fine tan bubbles. Nice barleywine Carmel toasted malt aromas. More of a darker toast and smokinesss than a typical BW.

Leathery and dry, pretty textbook American BW

At Old Chicago. Bottled February 18th 2019.

Pours pitch black with a small tan head of foam.

Smell is malty, loads of whiskey, fruity, chocolate. So complex.

Taste is strong with the whiskey barrel, dark fruits, chocolate, malty with a slight lean towards the good oxidation.

Full bodied with perfect carbonation.

Wonderful brew!

Bottle. (Thanks, Ozzy70!) A- Dark fruits, slightly floral, molasses. A- Black color, black liquid, minimal tan head. T- Molasses, brown sugar, fig, whisky, oak. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- This was almost Imperial Stout like and drank easily. Full body packed full with flavors that worked seamlessly together. I think you could throw this beer in a variety of different barrels and it would perform well. Really sneaks up on you!

32oz crowler pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a nice tan head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate, pine like hops, booze and some roasty malts. The taste delivers a pleasing rich deep blend of chocolate and chocolate blunted pine hops. In the background are soft sweet notes of plums and dates plugging along into the finish. Solid sipper.

Complex and heavy, layered yet familiar, with a strong toffee-caramel-molasses English barleywine sweetness offset by mocha and citrus, followed by a firm woody bitterness and wave after wave of boozy bourbon goodness. Dried fruit and brown sugar add depth, while the whiskey creates a necessary warmth on the finish. Unique--not a stout-barleywine hybrid like I expected, but a barleywine with richer, darker malt notes--and gone too quickly from my glass. Yum.

Tasting at Oakes' Manor; bottled 02/18/19
Dark brown colour with no head. Aroma of bourbon and booze. Full bodied, sweet, hardly the profile of a Barley Wine, but the malt flavour is strong, very nutty, some bourbon. Very good (American Strong).

650ml from ES shared at Josh's and Sunshine's rooftop. Appearance: dark brown with a beige head. Aroma: sweet, bourbon, dark fruits, some tea notes and molasses. Taste: along the same lines, quite boozy, a bit bitter. Overall: pretty good.
