At a great tasting in Vranovo-Serbia, with markoijelena and cika Boban. Bottle. Courtesy of Colin from The Hague, thank you. Pours dark brown, tick brownish cap with never-ending retention. Nose: chocolate, cherries, molasses. Mouth: high carbonation, coffee background, spicy, mild herbal end.

Bottle from Bierkompass, bought in Jan 2015. Dark reddish/brown with a medium tan head. Aroma and taste of smoke, roasted malt, citrus, some grain and light earth. Not that heavy. A descent one although not a "typical" Saison.

0,33L bottle (from Koht Auction), bottled 10.02.2014. Pours dark brown with beige head. The small head stays. Aroma is fruits, roast, smoke, malt, yeast. Flavor follows the nose, but has also noticeable alcohol. Overall: ok.

75cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of smoke, light peat, somewhat dusty, hay, liquorice, hint of chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet, smoke, dust, yeast, light spicy, liquorice that becomes more prominent and sweet when the beer warms up, chocolate, light hoppy, decent bitter finish. Medium bodied. Tasty stuff.

75cl bottle shared with Mr Farnfield @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep dark brown with tan head. Aroma is smoky, taste is rather bizarre, blending an initial smoky bacon hit with juicy lemon citrus and a big roasted malt influence. Complex, big bodied and different, although I can’t detect much in the way of Saison-like characteristics.

Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Black with an amber tint. Big, creamy lightly tanned head. Roasted aroma with spices, light barnyard, brown cookies, citrus and fruits. Taste is bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Dry, roasted finish with yeasts and fruits. My first dark Saison - so far I enjoy it.

Sample from Bottle - black pour with thin beige head. Aroma and taste is a mix of subtle roasted notes, with some barnyard fruity undertones, very different brew, like.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy dark amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a weak roasted malty spicy yeasty aroma. Fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel flavor with weak bitter hints. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel finish.

Bottle. Dark brown with enormous beige head, hard to pour. Smoked meat, nice tropical fruits, some chocolate and spices with a dry herbal finish. Strong carbonation with nice full creamy feel. Not bad, but I'm left wondering how it would be without the slightly overpowering smokiness.
