Pours a deep caramel amber with an active off-white head. Nose combines resin, citrus and roasted malt. Same major elements in the taste profile - citrus fruit and pulp, a touch of pine resin, caramel, a touch of spice and rye. On the dark edge of the West Coast tradition. Tasty.

Can from the lcbo. Murky brown pour, medium beige head. Aroma is very green. Smells of green, raw hop pellets, and some soft brown sugar and cereals. Body and mouth feel are normal. The finish is lightly bitter, with more very green hop cones and subtle pine with some cereals and subtle sweet brown sugar.. It’s pleasant but tastes raw at times, and a touch mudddled, and messy.

It’s a red ale basically. But kinda stuck between styles, it’s fine enough. Malty more than hoppy. Can in sk

Can: Poured an amber color lager with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt notes with some citrus and resinous hops notes. Taste is a mix of sweet caramelized hops notes with some light citrus/resinous hops notes. Body is light with good carbonation. Standard hoppy amber ale. Refreshing but nothing to write home about.

Draft - Lots of caramel and some bitter hops. Clear copper with a decent white head. Bitter and caramel notes, meh. Very malt forward, to the point I would say this is more English.

Reddish copper ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with resinous herbaceous hops, treacle, light butterscotch, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with herbaceous hops, light mineral notes, light butterscotch, pleasant. On tap at Ottawa Beer Fest 2018.

First what the heck is Cartoonkhaki talking about in the review bwlow mine? Taste is subjective sure, but this is not remotely golden. I'm guessing he's picked the wrong better. This west coast red ale is a amber with decent showing of off white head. Mild malt noise with resin hops. Taste presents very similar, mild caramel malt up front then sting reisin and pine that builds toward then end, then lingers, really lingers. The balance for this beer seem a bit off, and not much in the way of subtlety, but passible.

Pours a pretty clean amber colour (a little hazy by the end) with a big frothy beige head, very good retention and foamy lacing. Grassy aromas with some caramel and fruity malts. Hoppy taste with a little dryness in the finish over some fruity red ale malts. Mild citrus and grass lingers. Did not like the hops in their first one - Absent Landlord, but the one here really works out. Glad they’re on the right path.
