Inspired by West Coast IPAs, but brewed with Michigan style. The Crooked Tree is heavily dry hopped to give it a big aroma of pine and citrus. The flavors are big, yet very balanced between fresh hops and malt. Often described as "grapefruit" our hops give this beer an excellent fruit flavor that finishes dry.

Piney grass and honeycomb aroma, not strong. Murky ochre, medium yellow head. Caramel and pine, grass, vague grapefruit. Full body easy carbonation, chewy. Nice balance, a little stale. I bet I’d love this fresh at the brewery.

12 oz. bottle dated 7/21/15 so out of freshness date by a few weeks. Into a pilsner glass. A: Poured hard as it was extremely cold. 1 finger of beige head that retains well to big bubbles after a couple minutes and never completely clears. Hazy dull orange and full of sediment.. S: Light sweet malt nose. and little hops noticed. Maybe a muted spicy hop note. Slight alcohol smell as it warmed. T: Bitter orange taste overshadows the malty sweetness leaving a lightly resinous but clean taste at the finish. Earthy English hop taste with just a touch of orange. M: Medium body with average level of carbonation. Medium length bitter but fairly clean finish. O: This beer gets raves but my bottle is out of date and honestly less than impressive in all areas. Some also may not like the level of shit floating around. I guess it deserves another chance...

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly concentrated sweet grassy, wet grass, sugar, leafs, citrus peel, hops, minerals, pine needles, light malts, hints of dried fruits. Taste is slightly dry and harsh grassy, weeds, wet grass, leafs, citrus peel, minerals, bark, hay, light malts, harsh hops, medicine. Medium bitterness, harsh citrusy mouthfeel. Meh, this must be quite old...

Cloudy dark orange amber with a two finger off white head that fades slowly and leaves lots of lace. Nose is pine resin and citrus with some floral notes. Very light sweet malt base under a medium bitter pine body with a hint of spice. Medium- slick mouth and average carbonation with a long bitter finish, Slightly light body doesn’t detract from this at all.

Hazy orangish, small offwhite froth. Malty aroma more so than the usual American IPA. Some citrus and a little caramel perhaps. Flavour has a more pronounced hop bitterness, a little grapefruit and caramel. Bitterness gets slightly citric later on.

Bottle @home. Pours hazy amber with cloudy particles, small creamy lasting white head. Light to average malt presence, mostly caramel. Heavily hoppy, totally piney with some hints of citrus peel later on. Average alcohol, medium body, lively carbonation, bitter and dry finish. This lady here is a hoppy punch in the stomach!

Bottle thanks to Wingman. It pours hazy dirty gold with a small white head. The nose is soft, juicy, pine needles, oily orange, apricot, peach and light caramel. The taste is bitter-sweet, caramel, piney action, varnish, stewed orange, candy, pepper and light boost with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Solid ipa stuff.

Bottle shared at Paul’s many thanks to the wingman, hazed golden orange coloured pour with a thin odd white head. Aroma is nice spicy, pollen, sweet lemon citrus, floral votes. Flavour is pollen, citrus lemon, tangy, pine resin, sticky. Palate is medium bodied, little sticky, caramel, moderate carbonation.
