Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a two and a half fingers of khaki foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: blends a lot of sweet to roasty coffee beans to some earthy sweet qualities and dark chocolate bitterness, some light tones of milk chocolate
Flavor: meshes a great arrangement of the coffee bean roastiness and the different chocolatey vibes; sly aftertaste of coffee and chocolate
Texture: medium bodied, slight sessionability, finishes semi-dry with a shy roasty grip
Overall: I say a pretty nicely done porter I would be willing to come back to.

16 ounce can at Russell House Tavern in Cambridge. Nearly opaque brown color. Small beige ring. Roasted malt aroma has earthy, tangy notes. Flavor is sweet and roasty. Hints of dark brown sugar, coffee and tobacco. Long bitter finish an aftertaste. Quite nice, if I do say so.

Exhibit A Briefcase Porter 5.4% This is a lovely cola black with ruby highlights and tan foam. Roasty, cocoa and soft oats in the aroma. Medium to full in body with a bit of a dryness in the finish. The taste matches the aroma but adds dark bitter chocolate to the roasty elements. Solid Porter.
