Dark in colour but not in flavour, bright hop character with plenty of citrus and lightly tropical pallet combined with delicious bitterness backed with hints of coffee and chocolate.

0,33l can at home courtesy of minutemat, big thanks. ABV 4.5%. BB 07/2016. black color, medium big tan head. strong smell of grass and pines, a bit soapy, also some spices, roast and earthy notes, hints of chocolate. nice smell. light body, rather bubbly carbonation, light mouthfeel. tastes rather strong of grass and pines, after a while the bitterness mellows away, some earthy / soapy and light fruity notes come through. also has light roast notes, a bit of ash, light charcoal, fruits include tangerine, oranges, also light citric notes, also rather peppery. finishes quite peppery and with some earthy and grass notes. gets quite fruity and mellow on the aftertaste. wow, lovely beer. nice smell, the taste starts quite harsh bitter (for me almost a bit too harsh), but it mellows down very nicely to nice roast / earthy notes, and quite nice and soft fruity aftertaste. Just at the beginning I would wish for a bit more body to balance the hops, but after its a great experience. Lovely beer, especially considering the ABV. There are a lot of 10%-ers that do not bring so much flavor to the table. gimme more.

BOTTLE 66 CL. Past BB 20-MAY-2015. Hazy red-brown, beige head. Quite a hoppy dank aroma, despite past BB date, light caramel and almost nothing „black”. The taste is light sweet, dank hops, light to moderate hop bitterness with a weird moldy and fruity note to it. About the only thing that reminds you it’s „black” is the ashy edge in the after-taste. Overall, solid.

Cask at Euston tap opaque black coloured pour with a lasting g tidy light tam head. Aroma is a nice mix of charred roast grains, piney hip and fruity strawberry, maybe a little red berry on the nose. Flavour is composed of semi sweet malts wood, vanilla, light roast, piney hop, little grassy. Happy for the black IPA tick. Palate is medium light bodied, tangy hop bitterness, moderate to low carbonation.

Draught @ Fermentoren, Århus. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, hints of coffee, rich hops, grassy, citrus, light pine. Flavor is malty, chocolate, coffee, roact, grassy, citrus, pine. Thin to medium body, average carbonation, light bitter finish. Abit thin bodied, but deliveres alot of flavor for the rather low ABV. Really nice. 191014
