Tasting at SF, cork
Dark amber color. The aroma is deep, it blends dark amlt with delicate coffee and light barrel. The flavor is a bit too earthy, quite thin, which enhances the bozziness; dry finish.
Not very good, very unbalanced.

750ml bottle (thx, Alex G.!) shared at Brian’s office. Pours a very dark brown with a weak tan head. Aroma is winey and slightly woody. Similar taste with caramel and woody notes. Quite good.

Medium brown with a golden-brown colour. There is a fair bit of barrel - strong woody - notes but also a lot of toffeeish malt notes. It picks up some fairly rough bitterness, definitely that rich toffee molasses note, but I’d say the brett c doesn’t show through that much. I’d argue it’s a touch thin, despite its sugars, but otherwise has it’s a nice old ale.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a quite large off-white foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramelized sugar with fruity ester and oak presence is somewhat unique and enticing. Taste is a great mix of caramelized sugar notes with some fruity ester, light funky notes with some residual sugar notes and string oak presence. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol notes. Lacking some balance overall but interesting though say the least.

En fût au Boswell. Couleur acajou très foncé presque opaque, mousse moka pâle insistante laissant une belle dentelle. Arôme de Brett, vin rouge, caramel foncé, boisé, figue séchées. Goût de vin rouge, alcool, malt, Brett épicé, raisin rouge, peu sucré, légère amertume, boisé. Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen-dense. Pas de subtilité ici, le fût est très présent.

A dark brown ale with a very thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light burned caramel notes, light dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, very nice and enticing. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel with light dark black pepper notes, dark fruits, molasses, light woody notes, alcohol warmth, very nice and complex. On tap at Brouhaha Ahuntsic.
