This black India Pale Ale is loaded with hops and balanced with delicious maltiness. It was brewed with our friends from the great city of New Orleans, the band EYEHATEGOD.

Bottle from Mikkeller Beer shop. Hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and moderate hoppy - grapefruit and pine. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. A bit disappointing. 160813

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London during Jack’s farewell tasting. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. Nose holds burnt pine, orange, dirt. Medium sweet flavor, some chalky cocoa, good roast, earth, bitter grapefruit and orange rind, toast. Medium bodied with fine to average, creamy carbonation. Roasty finish, bitter earth, more citrus rind, burnt wood, dark pine. Pretty decent.

Bomber courtesy of rlgk. Pours deep reddish brown with a frothy beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving some very thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty, herbal and floral with roasted malts, pine needles, grapefruit juice, resinous wood, sweet liquorice candy, caramel, burnt cookies, dark roast coffee and moist soil. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, tiny fruity, herbal and floral with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, grapefruit juice, pine needles, lemon zest, unripe mango, unripe pineapple, resinous wood, caramel, burnt cookies, and black currant leaves. Mouthfeel is round, soft, tiny oily bitter, very tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, caramel, pine needles, resinous wood, burnt cookies and grapefruit rinds. Very solid and tasty brown BIPA.
