Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, toffee, vanilla, oak, taste is similar, sweet, plenty of barrel, a little oxidised.

Poured from a 2015 vintage, 750 ml bottle. Aroma is fairly malt forward with lots of chocolate and lighter roast, toffee and dark caramel notes. Light oak notes and hints of vanilla and almond. Light alcohol notes. Hints for tobacco and leather. Pours jet black with a medium sized, thick, dark mocha head that recedes steadily to a small, creamy, tan head that lingers on the edges. Light lacing and medium length legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with medium notes of chocolate, dark caramel and toffee. Lighter roast notes and faint leather and tobacco. Light soy sauce, wet cardboard notes showing some oxidation. Light oak notes and hints of vanilla. Light cherry and raisin notes with light alcohol notes as well. Mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright stout and a fun way of showing how a barrel's char impacts aroma and flavor. But it's pretty oxidized and that doesn't help at all.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a medium tan head that dissipates leaving nice residual and lacing. Aroma is cocoa, molasses, hints of oak and toffee. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter. Full body. Pretty good.

750 ml bottle poured into a tulip. 2015 vintage. Black with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, malt, subtle smoke. Tastes of caramel, malt, subtle smoke and oak. Medium body with a dry finish. Tasty but pretty rich and sweet. About half of the bottle was more than enough for me.

750ml shared by Andy aka MrPickles aka WaunaKilos aka MooseMaster A, who enlightened me with the whole Arbre experience. Big ups for real. Remarkably clean for an Imperial Stout of its ABV. Meticulously clean oak, this is really nice. Finish sticks around, this is a big one. Still really clean, solid for the syle. Nothing that really jumps at you in a tasting format, but really a solid beer to max out on.

On tap at the Bruery. It pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma has lots of dark fruit, oak and vanilla/caramel bourbon notes. The flavor is very oaky and spicy with wood, vanilla, dates, cocoa. Very silky on the palate and full bodied. The oak is very strong here but supports the big base beer nicely. A good sipper.

Tap room - Dark sweet roast and an almost sweet cedar. Deep brown with a small white head. Lots of Woody notes, more raw wood and a bit of dryness in the finish.

Bottle #229, 7/13/15, drunk 2/20/15. Good clarity in a deep coffee mahogany with very little, tan head. Treacle, maple and tons of toffee sweetness in the nose seems nicely developed with very light oak and not too much toastiness. Some light ash and tobacco lessens the punch of the sweetness but adds to the complexity. Lots of oak up front with too much char and ash. Ash building up way too much with a strong prune character. Low, loose carbonation and kind of a bit flimsy. Chocolate, cola, vanilla. Ehh. Guess its not too toasted at least. Not boozey either.

750 ml bottle thanks to Adam C. Doing all three side by side by side. Awesome viscosity on a thick dark black. Aroma is pumpernickel bread, roasted grain, smoked wood.
The flavor is heavy on the wood, strong oak, again the pumpernickel bread. Char level is low. Mouthfeel is oily and slick with a smooth carbonation. Body is just a little thin.
