Dark copper pour, medium white head. Aroma is very malty, lots of bitter cereals, wet paper, and musty grass, with some fruity undertones. Medium bitterness, more wet paper finish. Not very good at all.

This Belgian poured a cloudy amber colour with a creamy, white head. Nice lacing. Scents include ripe fruit, candy and a little spice. First swig was smooth and creamy with flavours of yeast, spice and hops. Finish is lightly bitter with hop flavour lingering.

Can: Poured a hazy amber color ale with a large foamy head with god retention and some lacing. Aroma of lightly sweet Belgian style malt is OK. Taste is a mix of Belgian style malt with some cereal notes and some light caramel with hints of fruity ester and a touch of residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Not bad but missing some attenuation.

Pours a clean amber colour with a warm cap that does not leave much lacing. Rye-like cereal grain aromas with the Belgian Ale yeast giving candy notes with some mild spices. The taste is pretty sweet at the start with fruity notes and really, lots of sweet malts. Hints of oranges lingers with very light darker grain. Not very Belgian except for the yeast in the smell and way too rich in the taste to be enjoyable.

Can from the brewery. Slightly hazy medium copper with a small white head that quickly fades. Nose is yeast, bananas, light cloves a bit of pear, and some candy and bubblegum. Medium sweet malt and candy with a very light spice and minimal bitterness. Medium slick mouth with soft carbonation. Just OK

Sticking with tonight’s semi-Belgian theme this is Bell City’s Lenoir 6.5% Belgian Style Ale (can served in a teku glass). Pouring a surprisingly deep amber-orange with minimal head. The aroma is hugely malty, pear, hay and a peppery clove cream soda and freshly threshed wheat aroma. Medium to light bodied with a dry finish. The taste is sweet, caramel, tobacco leaves, cloves, oatmeal. Man the malt character on this blending with the spices gives me very odd images of spiced gruel and a hayloft. Tasty enough and unique though not particularly Belgian in my book.

Can - Light fruity banana esters. Clear gold with a small white head. Light sweet esters and Belgian yeasts. Light and simple.

An orange amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, smooth fruity malt with light esters, cloves, OK. In mouth, a nice fruity malt with smooth peaches and cloves, pleasant. On tap at c’est what beer fest.
