“Doppel” meaning “double,” this style is a bigger and stronger version of the lower-gravity German-style bock beers. Originally made by monks in Munich, the dopplebock beer style is very food-friendly and rich in melanoidins reminiscent of toasted bread. We add our own twist with the addition of our house roasted coffee. A dark brown body with aromas of coffee, malts, caramel sweetness, ending with a bitter finish.

Bottle @ home. Dark copper brown colour with a small off-white head. Smells malts, coffee, some nuts. Tastes a lot of coffee. Not roasty like a stout but more pf a round malty sweetness. Quite a nice taste. Medium to full carbo, full body.

35,5 cl bottle. Rated on 04.04.2011
Aroma is really high on coffee – feels like smelling the remains of coffee pot. Very foamy palate is too high on CO2. Flavour is dry with lots of coffee, some chocolate and hints of licorice. Quite unique.

33 cl. bottle split @ Gollem with Kraddel and Dennoman // possibly / likely vintage bottle // dark amber caramel coloured with a tanned head // smell is like pure ground coffee, so much of it, light sweet edge, caramel but hard to get any other smells // taste is like freaking pure ground coffee, lightly burned, grit, true grit even :) + even the body feels like ground coffee with indeed a doppelbock serving as the canvas, caramel, toffee, sweet malts, touch mocha, nuts, rather light body // intriguing, intriguing stuf

On tap @ Csakajósör. Light brown body with a long lasting beige head. Nose of caramel, coffee and a small amount of grassy hops. Really caramelly taste with some coffee. Hop bitterness only appears in the finish. A very nice beer.
