Originally rated August 2006. This fruit pilsner pours a clean yellow colour with a nice white creamy head that has very good retention and leaves a beautiful uniform layer of lace all around. Carbonation is very active. The nose is pure candy green apple. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. The taste starts on an apple scent and then lands on a grainy malt flavour. The apple juice is quite present, but not really sweet, just right. A very nice alternative to one of my favorite retired brew... the Niagara Brewery Apple Ale.

Canette 473ml. De couleur dorée pâle et claire. Nez fruité (bonbon aux pommes vertes), léger de grains de malt pâle sucrés avec des notes herbeuses (gazon mouillé). Mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture légèrement minérale et aux petites notes sirupeuses fruitées. Goût fruité assez sucré (bonbon aux pommes vertes) présent dès l’entrée en bouche et pour toute la durée de la gorgée auquel se rajoute un léger goût de grains de malt pâle puis en finale l’on retrouve des notes herbeuses (herbes mouillées). Post-goût court, composé d’un goût fruité (résiduel de pommes sucrées) avec des traces herbeuses.

Can: Poured a very light yellow color beer with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light sweet apple notes with medium sweet malt base is interesting. Taste is quite refreshing with loads of apple juice which doesn’t taste too much like some fake syrup. Body is a bit light with some spritzy quality and good carbonation. I know this is considered a cheap thrill by most around here but I am a sucker for those refreshing fruit beer and this one isn’t half-bad.

This Pils poured a clear light yellow colour with a nice big bright white head. To the nose there are scents of apples, dough and cinnamon. The first taste was really too sweet and thick. Flavours of sugary carbonated apple juice is about all there is. Palate is sweet and the thickness is lingering. Sickly sweet.

Brown bottle, 341 ml, part of the Discovery Pack, purchased at the LCBO on November 27 2008, savoured on February 25 2009; eye: golden, clear, good effervescence, voluminous white head made up of rather large bubbles and that turns into a sheet, slight lacing; nose: mix of apple juice and beer that would not have been fully brewed, sugar, light citrusy; mouth: mix of apple juice and beer that would not have been fully brewed, foamy and cloying finale in sugar, lots of sugar, light citrusy, too much sugar, medium body, quite carbonated; overall: once is enough FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 341 ml, fait partie du Discovery Pack, achetée à la LCBO le 27 novembre 2008, savourée le 25 février 2009; œil : dorée, claire, bonne effervescence, mousse blanche abondante formée de bulles plutôt grosses et qui se transforme en une couverture, très légère dentelle; nez : mélange de jus de pomme et de bière qui n’aurait pas été complètement brassée, sucre, léger citrique; bouche : mélange de jus de pomme et de bière qui n’aurait pas été complètement brassée, finale mousseuse et toquante en jus de pomme trop sucré, beaucoup de sucre, léger citrique, trop sucrée, corps moyen, pas mal carbonatée; en résumé : une fois, c’est assez

Golden with a slight haze. Very candyish green apple nose. Sweet, candyish apple taste in a straw-accented pale lager. Sort of a corn pone note to the malts and Jolly Rancher to the fruits. You tell me how that’s supposed to work well together.

Golden coloured beer with a thin white head. Aroma is of grannys smith apple peels, with light aicdity, quite pleasant and fresh. In mouth, a rather cloying unpleasant sweet apple, harsh notes, liek a bad diet nectar. Short in mouth.
