Bottle. Nose is acres of peat, oak, lots of soy, leading to coffee bean. Taste is whiskey, peat, leading to rich dark fruits, some dark sugars than a lasting smokey whiskey finish. Mouthfeel is rich and a bit claggy. Outstanding beer that has been creatively barreled.

Bottle, thanks SirLimpsalot. Black with a small tan head. A lot of peat, whisky, tar, roasted malt and some warming alcohol. Intense and with a long aftertaste.

One of the several special editions of their imperial stout, matured on Bowmore casks. Pale beige, stable head, ink black colour. Strongly roasted aroma like the basic beer, the iron and the peat are there again too, coffee beans, nutmeg, dates, bitter chocolate as usual, but all drenched in a very noticeable, even somewhat overpowering whisky sauce. Taste is full and complex, spicy, bit of iron, oily mouthfeel, dark fruits, finishing not only in roasted bitterness but also in warming whisky presence (whether it is Bowmore or another single malt is hard to determine) as well as an agreeable woodiness. The Emelisse impy clearly benefited from this whisky bath, which only added to its complexity and has covered the astringent alcohol a bit with a more gentle, warming, pleasant whisky alcohol.

Bottle at the chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013 - London. Pours brown-black with a creamy beige head. Heavy peat character, oily, with tar and dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming on the finish with rich and lingering peat, some dark chocolate, a bit of burnt earth. Pretty good overall.

Quite black. Bubbly head. Aroma us rich, intense, full of chocolate, treacle, biltong, light molasses, and muscovado. No particular Bowmore aroma. Taste is full of peaty smoke, molasses, again biltong and dark sugars. Warm with a slight salty accent that feels Islay but not especially Bowmore. Finish is sweetish, a shot of espresso and the umami of a bloody ribeye. Fun stuff.

Bottle at home, 15th March 14. Pours black, with a light tan, small head, eaked out from high pour. Aroma of liquorice root, some slight peat and whiskey, taste is sublime, liquorice, perfect blend with the barrel, slight oak, a little alcohol, palate is thick and luxurious. This is superior to the Bowmore BA from De Molen, due to balance. A pleasure.

Black with well retained, dark, creamy head. Aroma of bitter roast malts and also sweeter whiskey-esque malts. Flavours of dried fruits, bittersweet roasted malts and light smoke. Very thick texture with low/moderate carbonation. Very good stout-versus-whiskey balance.

33cl bottle, bb 09/15. Black colored, brown thin head, nearly flat. Strong peaty aroma, tar, roasted malt and some vanilla chocolate. Flavor has peat, vanilla, licorice, roasted malt. Mouthdrying finish. Lingering finish with peat and licorice. Slight alcohol warmth. Love the peat here, the barrel has realeased its magic into this beer. Great.
