3rd Feb 2019, on a tasting tray at the Bourgogne des Flanders Brewery Bar in Brugge. Tanned foam on a black body. Malty and sweet with liquorice and dark fruit aromas and flavours. The best beer on the flight by a country mile.

3 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter! Hazy black with a lasting, small, unstable, frothy, yellowish beige head; some lacing. Aroma of walnut, earth, pink grapefruit, fondant, tree bark, toast, raisin, salted peanut, brownie dough. Taste is medium malty sweet, quite chocolatey, a bit fruity with raisin & blackcurrant & a nutty edge of walnut; light to medium roasted bitterness brings toast, fondant, touch of roasted coconut & even a grapefruit-like hoppy accent. Dryish, earthy hoppy finish, lingering toast, fondant, wood, very subtle warming coffee liqueur alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Pleasant surprise from the people working under the authority of John Martin, it's telling that they have at least some time to do experimenting of their own... and consequently deliver a good little brew with an uncommon ingredient.

Thanks for sharing tderoeck + Rubin77! Sampled draft @ Bierfestival Brugge 2019. Dark brown, tanned head. Nose is interesting, gummy bears, dark fruit syrup, oak & some paint. Taste is indeed Amburana once told but used suboptimal drowned out a bit in sweet sugar, dark fruit, cinnamon, oak, sugar, paint, glue, figs,… Thick gravy & liquorice syrup body, messy and imperfect but definitely above average for this brewery and largely pleasant.

2/II/19 - on tap @ Brugs Bierfestival, BB: n/a - (2019-155) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing todays' beers!
Clear dark brown beer, big irregular creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: weird, spicy, floral notes, dry, woody, soft roast, very weird. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: spicy, quite some coffee, cinnamon, nice roast, chocolate, more cinnamon and chocolate. Aftertaste: very roasted, bitter, more spicy notes, soft acidity, dry, not too bad!
