This release marks the 9th Game of Thrones release the brewery has created with HBO. The beer is a double white ale brewed with sea salt and white pepper.

Winter Is Here is a Belgian-style double white ale. Fittingly for a double white (walker) ale, the label is graced by the ominous visage of the Night King, who is expected to arrive as forcefully in Season 7 as this beer's 8.3% ABV will arrive in your stomach.

Winter is Here is brewed with pilsner malt, white wheat malt, and soft red wheat flakes, hopped with Saaz hops, and spiced with white pepper, sea salt, coriander and sweet orange peel. Brewery Ommegang’s house yeast is used in primary and secondary fermentation. This double white ale pours a hazy pale straw color with a stark white head. Aromas of banana, clove, and pronounced peppery phenols lead, and the flavor is slightly sweet malt, subtly balanced by hints of sea salt. Despite a full mouthfeel and healthy ABV, it still manages to drink quite lightly. The finish gradually builds in a warming crescendo of peppery spice.

Bottle from the lcbo. Hazy orange pour, huge white head. Aroma is very spicy, loads of coriander and citrus oils. Yeasty and spice is the name of the game here. Silky mouth feel, soft carb. Finish is lightly bitter with a strong yeasty, citrusy finish, and quite boozy, with a stronger than expected bitterness.

Florals and some lime. Hazy golden pour with good head. Light pepper. Light sweet finish. Definitely still has a wit taste, extra booze hides well. Bottle.

750ml bottle from Albertsons (gift box). Cloudy golden, lasting one finger fluffy head. Aroma is grainy, bready, yeasty, minor lemon. Taste offers a hint of the salt and pepper, adding faint savory notes. Smooth, with a tingly bitterness at the finish with the pepper leaving a little sting on the lips.

Light+ malt sweetness with a light+ grassy bitterness and some spice. Mouth is medium- with average carbonation and a peppery finish. 8/3+/7/4/15

The GOT beers have been kinda spotty, but I'm always willing to give them a try since it's Ommegang. This was worth it. A solid wheat with clove and banana, a little peppery bite and a sweet malt. Really a nice one.

Bottle: Poured a hazy/cloudy amber color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet wheat malt with some coriander notes and light cloves. Taste is a mix of sweet wheat malt with some coriander notes with light cloves notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Enjoyable white ale with nice spicy undertones.

Beautiful gift box set from the LCBO with a glass. Pours a hazy golden colour with tiny white particles, a white cap, decent stay and tiny bubbles foamy lace. Wheat aromas with spices, apples, grass and Belgian Ale yeast. A nice mild sweetness through the taste with orange notes, light spices and hops. A nice Imperial White Ale that feels pretty Belgian overall.

Bottle at home looks like I missed #7 of this series but alas. Dirty gold frothy white head. Nose is bubblegum and peppery. Tastes white pepper, some salt, yeast, orange peel, wheat, booze, bubblegum. Medium bodied decently carbonated. Enjoyable.
