Boggu is another one of our big flavoursome imperial sour beers. Clocking in at 10%, this imperial Berliner Weisse was re-fermented on a tonne of blackcurrants

250ml can from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep dark purple, thick head with a dark purple tinge. Aroma has huge amounts of blackcurrant leaping out. Crisp sharp sour taste with excellent crisp fruity clarity, thick stewed blackcurrant, hefty sweetness.. in fact it's quite possibly the most blackcurrant-tasting beer I've ever had. Incredible.

30/XI/19 - sample @ Day 2 of Billies Craft Beer Festival 2019, BB: n/a - (2019-2053) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Aroma: all diacetyl, bit fruity, more butter. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: lots of raspberries, fruity, quite some diacetyl. Aftertaste: dry, fruity, some tannins, bitter touch, funky, nice acidity, raspberries, more diacetyl. Big nope.

Can. Opaque dark purple beer, the head is quite a sight to behold, a vibrant cherry candy colour head, almost fluorescent. Smooth palate, a little airy but also semi dry and minerally crisp. Nicely intense tart berry fruits, never acid. Blackcurrant is not obvious to me, more of a generic berry thing to me. A nice savoury vibe before a crisp finish. Wow! An intense Berliner. A tad dry for me, which reduces drinkability but good fun. Wander Beyond are up there for me.
