A few selected barrels containing awesome imperial stouts were blended to create this massive beer. Aged on vanilla and cinnamon in whisky- and cognac barrels. No wonder it gives you the complete range on the palate: coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, liquorice, blackcurrant, dried fruits and leather.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, tan head. Aroma of roast malts, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, blackstrap molasses, and coffee with caramel syrup. Sweet and rich flavour with the same elements, some bittering hops in the finish. A true sipper - certainly no refreshment beer.

Bottle at Man in the Moon. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of whisky, dark bread, spices and dark fruit. The same in the taste. The body was full and the alcohol well hidden.

On tap at Session Craft Bar, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is complex, with loads of cinnamon and vanilla upfront, with whiskey and a touch of cognac barrel character. Flavour is unbelievably intense, with loads of whiskey and cognac barrels upfront, accentuated by the cinnamon. Only a hint of booze. Wonderfully decadent. Lovely.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie. Pours dark, deep beige head. Big whisky nose. Big heavy hitting taste, huge whisky presence, bolstered by some prominent cognac, heavy dark malts, chocolate, earthy woody notes with some dried dark fruits. Punchy alcohol hit, tempered somewhat by some subtle vanilla. Really enjoyed this.

Bottle. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Clear, very dark brown. No head. Nose has a ton of woody, boozy spirit. Lots of fruity cognac. Lots of phenols. Notes of fruity dark chocolate. Vanilla and dried cinnamon. Steeped vine fruit. Evokes notes of coconut truffle. Taste is sweet and rich, with a boozy, phenolic, dried fruit, woody bitterness. Medium to full body. Low carbonation. Feels well under the ABV. Lingering, fruity chocolate bitterness to finish. Mouthfeel could be thicker, for me, but overall it’s a super tasty, easy drinking big hitter.
