Bottle from Waitrose. #4 MJ 500 beer of this 2019 summer trip. Medium gold with a tall, fine head. Nose is lightly citrus hops, bit of bread, touch of cardboard and pear. Lightly spicy hops. Rather plain. Falvor is lemony, almost a touch of candy in there, tart from the hops. Some white bread and sweetness. interesting hops. Prickly, lightly bitter finish. Rather fizzy, lager-like. Ok but certainly not all that profound. This was probably one of the first wave of UK golden ales that went for the lager market, but it has been surpassed abundantly by this time. Not up there with Summer Lightning even, I would say. Still drinkable but would not be in anyone's 500 today.

Danke (?) an minutemat. Hellmalzig getreidiger, weich herber Beginn. Leicht hopfiger Mittelteil, würzig-herb, süffig. Mittellanger, zunehmend bitterer Abgang. Nett. 8/9/10/9/6/9

Cask @ Prince Edward, Bayswater. Golden with a head. Has a dry pale ale texture, is a hoppy session ale with a small berry-fruit sweetness.

Fra cask på The Badger, Ganton street Soho, nov-18: klar gylden med kort, storboblet skum. Mild aroma og smak med jordaktige toner, milde krydderurter, appelsinkjeks og et hint av pære. Mildt krydret avslutning. Forgettable.

Cask at Fox and Hounds, West End. Nil aroma. Dark gold. Thin frothy white head. Light bitter with an umami streak. Lemon biscuits. Does gain bitterness as I drink more. And a slightly antiseptic taste. Light-medium bodied. Slick but still on the thin side. Flat carbonation. Dry finish. OK. Gets a bit punchy. But average as.

Mooch tasting at Matt's, can
Hazy golden color. Mild honeyish aroma, stale bread. Stale bread and honey flavor, a bit metallic in the finish.
Quite bad.

Bottle. Dark golden color. Aroma: butter, earthy, spice, roasted nut and malt. Malty taste, light fruitiness, butter, grass, noticeable earthy-spicy hops.
