Created by Ken Smith, Colorado. Ken describes his brew as having "a refreshing light taste and cereal crispness from the wheat malt." This unfiltered ale has a rich, fresh fruitiness balanced by a citrus note from the Noble hops.

Overall Impression: Out of the LongShot pack from I believe 2007? This was a weird and interesting beer. Old notes had it rated here, so I'll just trust those...

12 oz bottle from Odeed; nose of boysenberries and light bread; hazy gold with a small offwhite head; flavor of grain and light boysenberries; not overpowering fruit as in a lot of fruit beers! Nice light fruit beer.

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours cloudy gold with orange hue. There is also a thin white head. The aroma is big with loads of boysenberries, some peach and a mild floral note. The flavor is strong with berry extract syrup, vague sugary malt sweetness, faint wheat and more sugar. The taste ends sweet with sugar and residual berry extract. It just doesn’t smell or taste like boysenberry fruit but rather a sugary extract.

Cloudy orange color with a medium thick and fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly. Spotty lacing. Sweet berry and malt aroma. Light, crisp body with a tart fruit character. Boysenberry is propped up by some malt and wheat flavors. The finish is clean and fruity with touches of wheat and mild hops. Overall the beer is slightly above average, and despite not being a brew I would seek out again, it is nice to see a mainstream brewer introducing unique styles like this.

Nice clear coloured golden body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of straight boysenberries, coupled with blueberries, raspeberries, icing sugar and a nice malt. Medium-bodied; Super sweet flavour that shows a lot of wheat next, along with good fruit flavours and a very clean finish. Aftertaste shows a lot more fruit and some sugars tucked in with some cardboard and fruit. Overall, a good beer that is very well done. I think this is one of the more well-rounded fruit beers I’ve had, and definitely one better than most of the pack. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from the LongShot 6-pack purchased from Oliver’s in Albany, New York on 27-May-2007.

A hazy blonde ale with a thin white head. A very chemical berry aroma, like cereals for kids. In mouth, a light wheat beeer with light undefined berries. Light bodied. Bottle at 11th Annual CNY Brewfest, Feb.5 2007.

Bottle. A strong boysenberry malt aroma (like a strawberry/sweet raspberry). Hazy amber with larger head. Since I never have tasted boysenberries before, I’ll make a giant leap and say this tastes like boysenberries which I would describe as a mixture of strawberries, raspberrries and black cherries. LIght malty flavor - maybe the slightest hint of hops at the finish. A nice enough fruit beer - my mother-in-law will love it.

12 oz. bottle. Boysenberries? First time for everything. At least this looks like a beer, as opposed to Leinie’s Berry Weiss’ pink tinge. Big berry smell, when poured, youbetcha. Berry taste is there, but an American wheat base tends to just fruit take over and not show off any character of its own. At least some bitter balance from hops, a bit of tartness keeps this out of IHOP syrup territory. But unless you’re making a date beer, match your fruit to something Belgian, or a less neutral style.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a fizzy pale golden color with a large yellow-white head. The aroma was fairly strong berry jam. The flavor was fairly strong sugary berry jam. There was barely any "beer" like body to this one. The fruit presence tasted very artificial. Still a decently quaffable brew if you are in to super sweet fruit beers.
