12 oz. bottle. Smell of pears when opened. Then pours in the glass with a little whiff of hops and, umm… sick. Over oxidized? Taste shows very grainy malt taste, not a lot of body, and a moldy bitterness. Is this old? Does it use fresh hops that went south? I really wanted to walk into this stealth megabrew with an open mind, but it’s more like a bad Michelob Dark.

Bottle. Frankly it’s a generic attempt by Anheuser-Busch to make a "micro" beer. They’re party successful, but somewhere in there they just fall flat. I don’t want to deride the beer just because of who brews it, but it seems no matter how they try, it doesn’t work. Mediocre at worst, forgettable at best.

Bottle. Amber as amber can be in color. Aromas have a strange cloves scent that hit me right away, but took a while to figure out... it was pretty unexpected. It is faint and lies under the sweet malt, but it’s there. Flavor is fairly fruity... I can pick up a little of that banana/clove taste along with a healthy dose of pears and caramel malts. Maybe I got an exceptional bottle, but I liked this one quite a bit. (And considering it’s an AB product, it is almost completely unexpected.) Sitll, it ends with a slight funk, especially as it warms a bit.

A golden amber ale witha thick creamy off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and fruity esters. In mouth, a decent malt, a bit too sweet, but with a decent hopping, very British and understated. From AB, this isnt too bad. If it was a buck a beer, it would be decent.

This beer is a clear copper/amber color with a medium thin and creamy white head with quick dissipation. Little lacing is evident. Mildly malty and hoppy aroma. Light-bodied and moderately malty with a light hops presence as well. Very little else going on in the flavor department. The finish is mildly hoppy with a touch of spice. This is a forgettable beer.

bottle - Pours amber with a thin head. The light aroma has some hops and it seemed like a little alcohol. It has a hoppy flavor. The balance seems a little off as there’s just not much to the flavor besides a little hops. It’s not bad, but some more flavors and body would be nice.

Bottle from Uncle Mattie; Nose of more like a wheat; caramel with some banana esters; light copper color without much head; flavor of caramel with some light banana and sweetness which is the basic finish. If it was cloudy I would call it a hefe from the flavors.

Amber color. The aroma is light, with malt and hop. The flavor is much better, with a reasonable combination of malt, hop and caramel. Nothing special, but pleasant.

Bottle: Light orange/golden color with very little white head. Aroma is malt and grasses, taste is kind of malty with a hint of hops. It just doesn’t have much flavor development at all. Overall, a bit too watery and bubbly to be much of a beer...
