BEARDFISH (Dry Stout, 5.5%) is the first in this style we brewed. A dry stout is a workingman’s beer and especially welcome in the colder months of the year. Beardfish is a roasty, malty beer that provides comfort, sustenance and quenches your thirst: A fine reward for when your day of toil is done.

Can drunk after temporarily reinstalling the sink and partly enclosing the sewer pipe in hopefully sufficient Rockwool insulation. Dark brown with a medium brown head. Great roasted nose, dark malt but not too sugary smelling. Big smooth dry flavor with a nice but mellow bitterness on the tail end. Coffee, toasty grains, all that stuff. Very good dry stout!

330ml can. Jet black colour with average frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Roasty and minimally chocolately, dark malty and caramel malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, dark caramel, some coffee, hints of roasted nuts, molasses, whiffs of liquorice. Taste is mildly bitter, roasty dark malty, slightly caramel malty with subtle residual sweetness, mild hop bitterness as well, notes of dark caramel, mocha, oily bitter hop. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally greasy and cloying palate, very fine, soft, still efficacious carbonation. Mild, very homogeneous and integrated, highly drinkable - very nice.

Pours a black colour and a light brown head with a thin layer retention. Aroma's of roasted malts, coffee-ish, a bit (dried) fruit. Roasted retronasal with light sweetness and some fruit. Flavour is light sweet, roasted, a bit chocolate. Light bodied, not too thin. Finishes dry, roasted, with a little fruit, moderate bitter. True to the style and very tasty.
