With Silke, for Happy 25 (civil) Day. Brown with minimal head. Big toffee aroma with prunes and toast underneath. Taste is sweet but not overly so. Lingering caramel sweetness at the finish, which is boozy and quite warming. Full-bodied, mild carbonation. A bit of a bruiser, and yet very smooth. Good.

One of my Beyond Beer Geek Edition Advent calendar beers (we were in the UK at a funeral, so forgot what day this beer was from) but this is brilliant, absolutely fabulous beer. Drinks incredibly easy for a 14.1% beer. Had this Friday 20th December 2024 listening to Afrodeutsche on 6Music after a Prawn Curry. Pours reddish brown colour with a haze, the head which I think was off white soon departed, nose suggests a big hefty sweet monster of a beer and guess what....it is. However it's incredibly drinkable, dangerously so, malty, think in the mouth, dried sweet fruit, molasses, burnt sugar. It's great.

A red copper lager with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, light bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, light bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, pleasant. Can at Mondiale 2024.

250ml (thx, someone eho brought it and fuck you, Dave, to steal a most part of the dink pour left!!!) @ Black Christmas 2023 at Heritage Hall. Appearance: hazy copper. Aroma: sweet, caramel, boozy. Taste: along the same lines, like a liquid candy. Overall: interesting.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear mahogany with a creamy tan head. Aroma of dark fruits and dark caramel. Arguably full bodied. Flavor is the aroma plus some spice. And heat. Not dry, but avoiding sticky. Not bitter but some spice and heat fend off the malt. It's a very nice beer.

With the font and the label style, really looks like they're trying to capitalize on Samichlaus. Cheap shot but it's not bad beer. On the other hand not that great either.

8.45 ounce can from Tavour. 2022 vintage; 14.1% ABV. Ruby red pour. Dense, creamy tan head. Rich, earthy, toasted malt aroma. Big bittersweet notes upfront. Boozy and intense. Sweet caramel, dried fruits and sherry-like notes. Wonderfully complex. Quite interesting. Very reminiscent of the Schloss Eggenberg Samichlaus Classic I had the other night. Yum!

8 oz. can, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of dark dried fruits, caramel, toffee and bready malt. Flavour is intense, with loads of dark dried fruits, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and bready malt. Nice booziness that reins in the sweetness a little. Sticky, fruity, sweet finish with loads of depth. Very tasty.
