What do you get when you infuse raspberrys and coffee beans into a rich milk stout beer - a Raspberry Latte Stout of course!
This dark brew is a combination of deep roasted coffee, a rich milk stout and raspberries to top it off. The locally roasted coffee beans are from the Iowa Coffee Roasters and are roasted right up the road from Millstream Brewery in Cedar Rapids. After using 25 pounds of coffee beans to create the roasty character, it is then fermented with 170 pounds of raspberrypuree to add a touch of unique flavor to this smooth brew.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 3/2018. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of raspberries, dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, vanilla, lactose, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light roast/char, herbal/spicy hop bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, nutty dark roast coffee, caramel, vanilla, cream, toasted dark/brown bread, light smoke/char, herbal, pepper, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, vanilla, lactose, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and fruit tartness balance; with zero cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness and fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tangy/acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.6%. Overall this is an excellent fruited milk stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of raspberries, dark/black/roast/bready malts, coffee, vanilla, lactose, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/tart/drying finish. Very rich and complex for the ABV, and very well balanced between all flavors. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of raspberries, cream, lactose, milk, roasted malt and a touch of grain on the finish. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasted malt flavours with perhaps more lactose and cream than anything else with some deep roasted flavours along with caramel, some light anise and licorice and good oat and robust malt flavours. Aftertaste shows a lot of raspberries and fruitiness on the end with a good deal of oatmeal, some grain and lactose with a little alcohol noticeable, but more of the raspberries and especially the grain and oats more than anything else. Overall, a relatively well-balanced beer with some moderate raspberry notes, but a lot of lactose and cream notes hitting with some minor coffee flavours at the tail end and a smooth malty bite. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased yesterday on 05-February-2018 for US$1,67 at BeerTopia in Omaha, Nebraska, sampled in my hotel room here in Omaha, Nebraska on 06-February-2018.

Draft/Fest. A- Malty, cocoa. A- Black color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Subtle berry, cocoa, malty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- Judging by the name I hoped for some raspberry, coffee, and chocolate. Well, I got a tinge of raspberry, no coffee, and a hint of cocoa. An alright beer but don’t expect it to taste like the name.

12oz bottle pours a murky black with some quickly fading off white head. Nose delivers what the name promises, quite a bit of malt and molasses, big berry notes, not sure if it’s easily raspberry, some blueberry and some red grape too, plenty of coffee bean there, some toast. Flavor follows, lots of jammy character, coffee bean, molasses, toast, some chocolate, some red grape. Full bodied, sticky finish. Kitschy, but decent.

Bottle. Typical black appearance. Aroma has light raspberry and coffee. Some berry flavor, lightly roasted malts, and a little more coffee in the flavor. It is sweet. A little chocolate. Good.

12oz bottle. Opaque black body...thinnish beige head fades out and away after a few minutes. I can dig it, I have a soft spot in my heart for a good raspberry stout. Sweet, and even though this is the "extreme" series, this is a pretty tame and drinkable offering, not overbearing like so many other beers on the shelves. Not over the top fantastic, but enjoyable enough for what it is.
